Tax Deducted at Source (TDS)

Tax Deducted at Source (TDS) is a tax deducted by payer from payee and deposited to Government, credit of which is taken by payee at the filing of his/her income tax return .A TDS Return is a quarterly statement which has to be submitted to the Income Tax Department of India. TDS shall be paid to the Government on monthly basis. However, return shall be filed on quarterly basis. After filing TDS return, Form – 16 for salary and Form - 16A for other than salary gets generated.
